In the Miller family, anything we come to cherish is quickly adopted as a tradition. But as time progresses, even traditions can evolve. My father decided to make a switch in our Christmas Eve dinner after the passing of my mother, reaching out to a dear friend for recipe suggestions. I received a call in June from him asking if I could make the recipe for Smothered Quail that she had proposed. Although it was a change from our long-held tradition of seafood casserole, we were delighted with the results and decided to make it an enduring family tradition. This beloved meal has been enjoyed for 26 years now! Embracing change can bring delightful surprises, so don't be afraid to try something new—you might end up cherishing it for many years.
